When Leon Levine established The Leon Levine Foundation, he did so with the belief that generosity begets generosity. There is always a seat at the table for you and for me; we have an invitation to make our own contribution – be it a gift of our time, talent, or resources. Never has a collective commitment to giving back felt more important than in 2020, when uncertainty has been the only certainty.
Each day, we speak with organizations that have devoted countless hours to the betterment of our society, come what may. And with these partners in mind, we are proud to roll out a series of enhancements to our grant application process. We seek to conduct a thorough analysis of grants that involves the grantee without distracting from the critical and time-consuming work of running nonprofit operations.
One way we can achieve this is by offering a user-interface that is simple and straightforward to navigate. Our new website serves as a virtual front door for current and prospective grantees. We welcome you to take a look around and return to this blog often, where we’ll spotlight the successes of our partners and philanthropic best practices. You’ll also notice our updated grantee portal, which syncs with our website and makes for a streamlined application experience.
Years ago, Mr. Levine coined a phrase that has become a mantra for our staff and it’s this: “polish the stone.” For Team Levine, this means pursuing continuous improvement. We work hard to ensure our grantees have the support they need to maintain service delivery. It is an honor to walk alongside such devoted nonprofit organizations during this season of unknowns.
Although philanthropy is most widely recognized as the distribution of funds, it is first and foremost a resolve to promote the welfare of others. We hope you’ll join us on our mission to better the human condition by doing just that: recognizing, valuing, and furthering the welfare of people across the Carolinas – and beyond.
